That sweat from your workout or summer heat can dry out over your pores blocking them and trapping the oil inside the pores. Keeping your gym top on too long after its wet will have a similar effect on the pores.
Wearing a backpack regularly or wearing anything that puts pressure on your back this can increase sweating and friction leading to acne outbreaks. Try and wear the pack or padding only as long as you need to and wear a clean cotton t shirt underneath if possible.
If you do suffer from backne you probably noticed it once your hormones kicked in around puberty. If you are prone to oily skin you will also be more prone to back acne.
What is Back Acne?
Your back, like your face has glands that secrete sebum. an oily substance, When you get dead skin cells and sebum building up inside the pores in your back, this is when nasty bacteria growns and leads to infection. These bumps on the top of your skin that are filled with pus can be itchy and uncomfortable.
This will help remove the sweat and any dirt or bacteria that might block those pores. Also avoid wearing your workout clothes too long after your workout or wearing tight-fitting tops too often. Similarly if you've been swimming or in the hot tub be sure to change into some dry clothing as soon as practical.
Apply a clay mask to draws excess sebum oil out of your pores. This will prevent clogging up your pores and the appearance of acne. Kaolin clay can remove the oil while also removing dirt, grime and germs from your skin. Drawing out and removing the sebum oil and dead skin cells is a key step to preventing bacterial growth and the appearance of Acne.
Use a natural antibacterial such as coconut oil to treat acne. Coconut oil is high in lauric acid, which helps kill the bacteria that cause acne. When you apply coconut oil not only does it attack the bacteria but it also increases moisture in the skin. This can help reduce the potential for scarring.
The skin on your back does not heal as well as your face. If you pick or pop the pimples on your back you risk leaving blemishes and scarring on your skin.
Wash your sheets more regularly to avoid the build up of dead skin cells that can block the pores in your back leading to the appearance of Bacne. Aim to wash them once or twice a week especially if you normally sleep on your back.
